About the role
Responsibilities
- Build and own canonical data models in Snowflake to serve as the company-wide source of truth
- Structure datasets for optimal performance with vendor AI tools using consistent schemas and rich semantics
- Explore and prototype MCP integrations for conversational data querying
- Eliminate shadow tables by proactively serving team data needs at the platform level
- Own the transformation layer using dbt with rigorous testing and validation
Requirements
- 6+ years in data engineering
- Strong SQL skills
- Deep Snowflake expertise
- Experience designing efficient, scalable analytical data models
- Proficiency with dbt or comparable transformation frameworks
- Strong data quality instincts
- Experience in startups is a plus
