About the role

Responsibilities

  • Extract, manage, and clean quantitative data from the Canadian Emergency Department Research Network (CEDRN) registry
  • Perform complex statistical analysis, including clustering, stratification, weighting, and predictive modeling
  • Map and extract data from Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) such as Epic, MEDITECH, and Cerner
  • Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries and analysis methodologies
  • Create data visualizations, dashboards, and summary reports to support study writing groups and stakeholders
  • Prepare analytic plans, methods sections for grant applications, and scientific manuscripts for publication
  • Support knowledge translation by producing high-quality graphs, tables, and presentations for conferences

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant discipline or completion of a technical program
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience in data analysis or research
  • Proficiency in statistical software and languages such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, or Stata
  • Experience working with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) data
  • Demonstrated experience in the statistical analysis of health data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, or a related Data Science field
  • Advanced proficiency in R Markdown or Excel (VBA, macros, pivot tables)
  • Experience with natural language processing (NLP) to extract structured data from unstructured fields
  • Experience with cluster analysis of system-level data
  • Experience working within healthcare settings and collaborating with clinical research teams
