Data Analyst

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert in market data platforms, including real-time and financial time series components
• Collaborate with traders, researchers, and engineers to integrate market data platforms into research lifecycles
• Verify, clean, and ensure data accuracy and consistency across research and analysis systems
• Analyze datasets to provide insights and address stakeholder questions
• Collect and analyze metrics regarding data quality, including completeness, validity, and timeliness
• Perform root cause analysis on data quality issues and monitor production data
• Enhance market data platforms for internal publishing and propose integration solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve data pipelines and onboarding processes

Requirements

• Experience in market data systems (e.g., OneTick, Activ Financial, KDB, B-Pipe, Elektron)
• Knowledge of financial instruments, specifically derivatives
• Experience with time series, reference, and fundamental datasets
• Understanding of metadata, descriptive metrics, and attributes
• Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization
• Programming skills in Python (PySpark, Pandas, Jupyter Notebooks) and/or C++
• Experience with cloud storage solutions
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AWS (S3, Athena) or other cloud providers
• Experience with financial data providers and exchange data
• Experience working directly with traders and quantitative researchers
• Familiarity with real-time software concepts
• Experience developing data quality checks using Python
• Knowledge of Parquet or HDF5 file formats
• Experience with Bloomberg Terminal
• Familiarity with Linux and Bash scripting
• Experience with version control and workflow management tools like Airflow or Argo
