Cybersecurity Specialist Lead

Responsibilities

• Serve as a lead cybersecurity professional providing risk and security control assessment SME support for the Space Force Range Contract.
• Lead and independently complete authenticated scans using Nessus, SCAP Compliance Checker, and other security tools.
• Analyze cybersecurity architecture for compliance with DoD policies and execute security test plans.
• Create, review, and ensure timely submission of FISMA and LTRS Authorities to Operate (ATO) packages.
• Conduct Information Systems vulnerability assessments, risk mitigation, and Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) development.
• Apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) settings and maintain documentation.
• Maintain a SIPRNet account with continuous access to eMASS to manage workflows and provide training.
• Mentor and train junior team members on cybersecurity advancements and technical processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT, system administration (Windows or Linux), networking, or telecommunications.
• Proven experience with vulnerability management tools and patch management.
• Strong knowledge of DoD Cybersecurity Policies, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Zero Trust architectures.
• Hands-on experience with eMASS and the Authority To Operate (ATO) workflow.
• Technical expertise with Microsoft/Linux operating systems, Cisco products, and VMWare/virtualization.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with network hardware operating systems such as Cisco IOS or Juniper JUNOS.
• Ability to obtain DoD 8140 foundational and residential qualifications within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with IP packet captures and Ports, Protocols, and Services Management (PPSM) documentation.
