Cybersecurity Internship

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze daily security alerts, documenting findings and actions taken
• Assist in the configuration, fine-tuning, and improvement of security tools including Zscaler, CrowdStrike, ThreatLocker, Darktrace, and AlienVault
• Maintain up-to-date security event logs to ensure clear audit trails
• Organize and pull sample logs from security tools for compliance auditing purposes
• Track and file reports from external security partners and manage compliance software updates
• Execute one major summer project from start to finish, such as a logging gap analysis or an incident response guide refresh

Requirements

• Current undergraduate student in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or a related field
• Rising junior or senior status with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027
• Foundational knowledge in networking, operating systems, user account management, or incident response
• Proficiency in reading logs and working with data in spreadsheets
• Strong written communication skills for technical reporting
• Ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Must meet US Person status requirements for ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing beginner certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Network+
• Hands-on experience with security tools (Zscaler, CrowdStrike, Okta, Vanta, etc.) via home labs, clubs, or CTF competitions
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, or CMMC
• Ability to write simple scripts in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
