About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning and statistical models for threat detection, anomaly detection, and fraud identification
- Engineer robust security data pipelines for ingestion, cleansing, and feature engineering using structured and unstructured cyber data
- Analyze security tool outputs to identify control gaps, policy deviations, and emerging threat patterns
- Partner with the Security Operations Center (SOC) and infrastructure teams to embed AI into security controls and incident response workflows
- Conduct model performance evaluations, including bias and drift analysis, to improve detection efficacy
- Develop visualizations and storytelling artifacts to communicate complex analytic findings to stakeholders
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in data science or machine learning using Python or R
- 4+ years of experience working with security-relevant datasets (SIEM, endpoint protection, network telemetry, etc.)
- 4+ years of experience with SQL and big data or cloud analytics platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks
- 4+ years of experience applying machine learning methods like classification, clustering, or anomaly detection
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying AI to cybersecurity use cases like insider threat or cloud security posture management
- Experience in the financial services or payments industry working with sensitive data
- Experience with MLOps practices and tooling in a regulated environment
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or recognized data science certifications
