About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide cybersecurity expertise to surface combat system program offices.
  • Lead efforts to bring platform IT systems through the full Risk Management Framework (RMF) life cycle to achieve or renew Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Perform Assessment & Authorization (A&A) work, including categorization, security planning, POA&M updates, and security control compliance assessments.
  • Coordinate system hardening to ensure compliance with DoW and DISA regulations, including STIGs and SRGs.
  • Advise customers on secure design and implementation of systems and capabilities.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and architecture designs and recommend mitigations.
  • Provide mentorship and training to team members and build briefs for decision-makers.

Requirements

  • 8 years of direct cybersecurity work experience, including evaluating system compliance against RMF and DoW policies.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity Management or an equivalent technical degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Deep knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, DoDI 8500.01, and DoDI 8510.01.

Preferred Qualifications

  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Management (IAM) III or IAT III certification.
  • Experience working within an acquisition program office environment.
  • Familiarity with Navy combat systems such as SSDS and AEGIS.
  • Working knowledge of DON, NAVSEA, and PEO IWS cyber regulations.
