Cybersecurity Analyst - Detection and Response

Responsibilities

• Identify areas of risk within the HP enterprise and provide input on remediation and mitigation
• Scope the extent and impact of vulnerabilities, attacks, or breaches using knowledge of the HP environment
• Resolve security issues related to vulnerabilities, incidents, and threats through independent analysis and research
• Support incident escalation, assess probable damages, identify damage control, and assist in developing courses of action
• Run analyses on security incidents and threats to identify system vulnerabilities and research appropriate countermeasures
• Develop, enhance, and maintain security solutions based on system analysis and incident resolution
• Monitor open source feeds and report on the latest threats against computer network defenses

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience in security operations, incident response, or threat hunting
• In-depth knowledge of Cyber and IT security, including risks, threats, and prevention measures
• Strong understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP) and common protocols (HTTP, FTP)
• Knowledge of digital forensics, including file system/registry artifacts, memory analysis, or malware reverse engineering
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or commensurate work experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical Cyber Security Certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., SANS, ISACA, CompTIA, Cisco, or CERT)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• CompTIA Security+
• Experience with Cloud Security (AWS or Microsoft Azure)
• Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for automation
