Cyber Security Engineer

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain PCTE systems across various secure environments
• Apply system hardening techniques, validate patches, and enforce security baselines for virtual machines (VMs)
• Manage the transfer, synchronization, mapping, and deletion of virtual content and network specifications
• Configure and deploy secure virtual training environments, including RCS nodes
• Collaborate with the Senior Test Officer to plan, execute, and report on cybersecurity test and evaluation activities
• Develop and maintain Cybersecurity Test Plans and integrate findings into Agile development cycles
• Coordinate with agencies like DOT&E, ATEC, and USCYBERCOM to validate test coverage
• Stay updated with DoD cybersecurity standards, Army regulations, and RMF/NIST controls
• Support deployment and maintenance of RCS infrastructure
• Perform quality assurance checks during system buildouts
• Collaborate with development teams to create engineering specifications for cybersecurity solutions
• Install, configure, and maintain cybersecurity tools, agents, and platform services

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience with virtualization tools such as VMware or KVM
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows system hardening and baselining
• Experience in vulnerability scanning, mitigation, and patch management
• Familiarity with Nessus, ACAS, Wireshark, Splunk, and STIGs
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Agile workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Industry certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, or CISSP
• Experience in multi-domain environments with classified and unclassified systems
• Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
