Cyber Security Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain security tools and infrastructure including EDR, SIEM, MFA, and firewalls
• Lead threat detection and response efforts, including incident investigation and remediation
• Perform regular security assessments and penetration tests to mitigate vulnerabilities
• Serve as the technical lead for CMMC, NIST 800-171, and other compliance initiatives
• Build and maintain compliance documentation, SSPs, and POAMs
• Implement security automation and manage integrations between cybersecurity and MSP toolsets
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technicians and engineers

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity or systems engineering experience
• Experience in an MSP or multi-tenant environment preferred
• Strong understanding of CMMC, NIST 800-171, and CIS frameworks
• Experience with EDR, SIEM, email filtering, DLP, IDS/IPS, and MFA
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Defender, Azure, and Intune
• Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell or equivalent
• Experience producing compliance documentation and audit evidence

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
