Cyber Security Architect

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Third-Party Risk Management and business units to evaluate new applications and ensure alignment with enterprise security requirements.
• Partner with IT teams to enforce security standards and provide guidance on how configuration changes impact Security Operations and GRC compliance.
• Evaluate proposed application and platform configuration changes to analyze their impact on security posture and architectural standards.
• Support the cross-functional adoption of security controls for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments, including the creation of reference architectures and guardrails.
• Deliver security guidance for network security controls, such as firewall access control lists (ACLs).
• Assess the external threat landscape using threat intelligence to guide the implementation of defensive controls.
• Assist in developing enterprise security standards aligned to industry frameworks like CIS Critical Security Controls or NIST SP 800-53.

Requirements

• 6+ years of combined hands-on experience in at least two of the following: Windows/Linux server engineering, Cloud engineering (AWS preferred), or security tooling configuration (EDR/XDR, SIEM, PAM, etc.).
• Technical knowledge of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, CIDR Ranges, Proxies, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Experience in security architecture, security engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• Ability to work effectively in large, global environments spanning multiple time zones.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical professionals.
• Availability for infrequent domestic and international travel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware or Docker.
• Proficiency in developing scripts to automate manual tasks, preferably using Python.
• Working knowledge of software development standards and SDLC concepts.
• Professional security certifications such as CISSP or Security+.
