About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and advise on zero trust architecture maturity models and roadmap phased adoption.
- Design and implement network security architectures including SDN, SASE, and API gateways.
- Apply NIST SP 800-207 frameworks, focusing on micro-segmentation, least-privilege access, and continuous verification.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, DevOps, and compliance to align architecture goals with business objectives.
- Prepare technical roadmaps, schedules, and management plans.
- Produce high-quality technical writing and documentation for senior leadership and technical personnel.
- Track project dependencies, process improvements, and technical integration challenges.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph is required.
- Proven experience with Zero Trust architecture frameworks (NIST SP 800-207).
- Expertise in modern network security such as SDN, SASE, or API gateways.
- Experience with cloud-native IAM (AWS IAM, Azure AD, or Google Cloud IAM).
- Strong background in program management and technical writing.
- Ability to work onsite in Herndon, VA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) and UEBA platforms for threat landscape analysis.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) to automate scalable security solutions.
- Background as a Network Architect or Security Architect.
- Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related technology discipline.
