About the role
Responsibilities
- Defend against cybersecurity incidents and identify, analyze, and contain threats
- Respond to alerts and events to protect the Agency’s IT security posture
- Characterize and analyze network traffic and server/cloud performance metrics
- Perform patching on workstations, servers, and network equipment
- Conduct network monitoring and intrusion detection using firewalls and host-based security systems
- Support the creation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans
- Research emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid incident identification
- Coordinate with OTI and ITOPS on IT inventory and security audits
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree with 24 semester credits in computer science or a related field plus one year of computer software experience; OR
- High school diploma plus five years of satisfactory full-time computer software experience; OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience as specified
- Experience in computer systems development, applications programming, or database administration
