About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, administer, and optimize existing and future HPC systems and supporting cyber infrastructure
- Collaborate with research teams and technology leads on grant implementation and technical support
- Engineer tools and automations to assist with maintenance tasks and system monitoring
- Perform operating system software upgrades, deployments, and troubleshooting for project servers and workstations
- Conduct proactive and reactive performance analysis and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues
- Research and explore next-generation technologies for future implementation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Experience with file system administration
- Experience with network switching and routing
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python or BASH
- Successful background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment
- Experience with parallel file systems (e.g., Lustre, GPFS)
- Experience with configuration management software (e.g., Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)
- Experience with virtualization management (e.g., oVirt, VMWare, KVM)
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure)
- Experience with containerization (e.g., Singularity, Docker, or Kubernetes)
