Customs Operations Sr. Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage customs operations and ensure regulatory compliance for the Tanger plant.
• Act as the lead point of contact for customs brokers regarding clearance, documentation, and origin of goods.
• Develop, maintain, and update Customs Compliance SOPs applicable to the region.
• Support lean projects in the customs and logistics areas to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor customs costs in alignment with the Finance department against forecasts and budgets.
• Manage export controls and ensure logistical processes comply with internal and external regulations.
• Lead official customs audits, investigations, and export controls across different countries.
• Maintain close cooperation and relationships with customs authorities.
• Provide advice to business units on the impact of changing laws and regulations (e.g., Brexit, POD).
• Develop and maintain the HTS Update Process and work with the Global Center of Excellence on tariff code classification.

Requirements

• Engineering or Master's degree in International Business, Economics, Logistics, or an equivalent field.
• 4 years of experience in import/export and customs within a logistics environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office package.
• Fluency in both English and French.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience within the automotive sector.
• Experience working with a global trade compliance consulting firm.
• General logistics knowledge covering transportation, packaging, warehousing, and distribution.
