Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end customs master data governance including HS classification, Origin, Export Control, and FTA for India imports and exports
• Ensure accurate, compliant, and timely classification and origin determination
• Drive data quality excellence through structured controls, KPI tracking, and master data audits
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for classification deviations and compliance gaps
• Partner with brokers and stakeholders to ensure robust customs execution
• Identify and implement duty optimization and FTA utilization opportunities
• Support customs audits, investigations, and regulatory monitoring
• Drive automation and digitalization of classification processes using data lakes and analytics
• Collaborate with international teams to contribute to global master data strategy

Requirements

• Strong expertise in customs tariff classification, origin rules, and export control frameworks
• Proven experience in customs master data management and governance
• Hands-on experience in data analysis and compliance risk management
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, International Trade, Engineering, or related field
• 4-8 years of experience related to Customs Master Data
• Certification in HS classification or customs declarant licensing
• Experience with bonded warehouse, FTZ, or MOOWR structures
• Exposure to data lake environments, Power BI, SQL, or analytics tools
• Knowledge of SAP platforms or Volvo Classification systems like C4V

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with classification automation or large-scale digital transformation programs
• Experience with Descartes GDM/MIC platforms
