Customs FTA Specialist

Responsibilities

• Determine preferential and non-preferential origin to qualify products under relevant Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
• Analyze BOMs, HS classifications, and regional value content for agreements such as USMCA, CPTPP, and EU FTAs
• Maintain audit-ready documentation, including costed BOM structures, supplier declarations, and origin calculations
• Lead supplier engagement to solicit and validate origin and content data
• Determine country of origin per customs rules and guide labeling/marking requirements
• Integrate origin data into SAP and maintain master data throughout the product lifecycle
• Partner with Engineering, Sourcing, and Finance to support design changes and duty savings tracking

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in FTA origin qualification and non-preferential origin determination
• Solid knowledge of major FTAs (USMCA, CPTPP, EU FTAs) and methodologies (CTC, RVC, process rules)
• Experience building and validating costed BOMs and managing supplier declarations
• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically SAP or Oracle
• Advanced MS Excel skills and experience extracting information from ERP systems
• Proficiency with advanced analytics and data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
• Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
• Ability to work effectively across regional and functional boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with origin marking, de minimis, drawback interactions, and broker governance
• Exposure to HTS/HS classification and export controls (ECCN/EAR)
• Experience with Supply Chain Planning Systems
• Ability to work independently and proactively resolve issues in a dynamic operational environment
