About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire customs clearance process from pre-entry to final release
- Ensure all customs entries are accurately documented and compliant
- Coordinate with customs on-site agents to expedite loading and unloading
- Review, authorize, and validate entries prior to payment
- Manage communications and corrections with customs authorities
- Monitor shipment status and ensure timely clearance of goods
- Validate and control costs related to handling, storage, and logistics
- Prepare daily and weekly operational reports
- Maintain organized digital and physical documentation files
- Collaborate with finance and accounting teams for operational closures
- Coordinate on-site inspection visits with customs brokers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Business, or related field
- 4 years of experience in customs clearance operations
- Experience in construction materials supply sector preferred
- Proven experience working with customs brokers and cargo inspections
- Proficiency in English
- Strong knowledge of Mexican Customs Law and Foreign Trade General Rules (RGCE)
- Expertise in tariff classification
- Proficiency in VUCEM, SAAI, SIGA, and SAT systems
- Experience handling Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, and Packing Lists
