About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the customs brokerage manager in overseeing department operations and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor compliance with internal policies, external government regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Manage department workload allocation, team workboards, and documentation archiving.
  • Drive financial excellence by following up on customs guarantees, refunds, and AR reports.
  • Support business development by assisting with new business transitions and brokerage quotes.
  • Mentor and develop team members through regular performance reviews and training oversight.
  • Prioritize customer experience by handling escalations and maintaining professional communication.
  • Promote digitization by utilizing productivity tools and implementing system enhancements.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Strong knowledge of customs legislation, including classification, valuation, and origin.
  • Understanding of border customs operations and customs tariff systems.
  • Knowledge of air, road, and ocean transport.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Proven leadership attitude and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Customs Brokerage experience.
  • Licensed Customs Broker.
  • Hazardous Materials certification.
