About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and all applicable import/export laws.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain customs brokerage compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for CBP, auditors, and government agencies during reviews and inquiries.
  • Conduct internal customs compliance audits covering entry accuracy, valuation, classification, and origin.
  • Manage corrective action plans, post-entry amendments, protests, and disclosures.
  • Provide compliance guidance and training to customs brokers, operations teams, and stakeholders.
  • Review and approve complex customs issues including HTSUS classification, valuation, and FTAs.
  • Prepare compliance status reports and risk assessments for leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or import/export operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. customs laws, CBP regulations, and HTSUS.
  • Proven experience with CBP audits, Focused Assessments, and disclosures.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for regulatory correspondence.
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCS (Certified Customs Specialist), CTCS, or similar trade compliance certifications.
  • Prior experience leading or managing formal customs compliance programs.
  • Proficiency with specialized customs brokerage systems and compliance tools.
