Customs Agent

Responsibilities

• Perform basic level processing to obtain customs clearance approval for import, export, and transshipments of documents, packages, and merchandise.
• Prepare necessary customs forms, including master airway bills, cargo manifests, general declarations, and invoices, to ensure timely processing.
• Detail customs duties, tariffs, and taxes/VAT fees to enable efficient cost recovery.
• Ensure full compliance with country customs and tax laws, as well as FedEx policies and procedures.
• Interface with customs officials and coordinate activities with internal operations employees.
• Contact customers to request additional information or to inform them regarding duties and taxes.
• Maintain organized and properly filed customs documentation.
• Perform sorting and baggage support at the airport and retrieve air freight from carriers as required.

Requirements

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience in international freight/cargo customs policies, procedures, rules, and laws.
• Fluency in English (customs-specific English required).
• Valid driver's license.
• Computer literacy and general office skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of airport and customs clearance procedures.
• Experience with CRT.
