Customer Technical Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide professional technical expertise to customers to support the development of new applications for Specialty Polymers.
• Support the commercial team in identifying and developing new market opportunities, specifically within the Korean automotive and electrification sectors.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Sales to develop technical expertise on existing and new product applications.
• Provide proactive technical consultation to anticipate customer problems and identify high-quality technical solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry technology managers.
• Gather market intelligence regarding evolving technology trends and customer needs.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and provide technical training on product benefits.
• Prepare technical documentation, presentations, and articles for both internal and external use.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics.
• 3-10 years of experience in product development, technical service, or technical marketing within the aromatics, engineering plastics, or fluoropolymer industries.
• Deep expertise in melt processing, including injection molding, compression molding, and tool design.
• Strong background in polymer chemistry and/or fluorine chemistry.
• Knowledge of electrochemistry or battery science.
• Proficiency in physical testing (mechanical/environmental) and chemical analysis (thermal analysis).
• Ability to interpret and explain CAE/Moldflow results to customers.
• Native fluency in Korean and professional proficiency in English.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
