About the role

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice networks
  • Perform maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
  • Climb poles and use tools to dig, bury, and locate cables
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Assist other technical personnel as requested
  • Support sales and marketing activities and direct customer referrals

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to handle 28 foot extension ladders and heavy utility covers
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, aloft, and in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to distinguish colors on facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a customer facing telecom operations technician
  • Basic electricity training or certification
  • ADSL installation and repair experience
  • A+ or Net+ certification
