About the role
Responsibilities
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks
- Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
- Climbing poles, digging, and working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults
- Observing all safety rules and regulations
- Assisting other technical personnel and supporting sales/marketing activities
- Directing customer-facing work and sales referrals
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to handle 28 foot extension ladders and utility access hole covers
- Ability to work in confined spaces, aloft, and in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Basic computer skills including MS Office
- Ability to distinguish colors on facilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a customer-facing telecom operations technician
- Basic electricity training or certification
- ADSL installation/repair experience
- A+/Net+ certifications
