About the role

Responsibilities

  • Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks
  • Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
  • Climbing poles, digging, and working in utility access holes or controlled environmental vaults
  • Observing all safety rules and regulations
  • Assisting other technical personnel and supporting sales/marketing activities
  • Directing customer-facing work and sales referrals

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to handle 28 foot extension ladders and utility access hole covers
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, aloft, and in all weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to distinguish colors on facilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a customer-facing telecom operations technician
  • Basic electricity training or certification
  • ADSL installation/repair experience
  • A+/Net+ certifications
