About the role

Responsibilities

  • Respond to basic customer inquiries regarding products and provide accurate quotes
  • Manage order entry via telephone, fax, email, electronic methods, or walk-in counter sales
  • Influence gross profit by negotiating sale and purchase prices within established parameters
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to drive repeat business and process improvements
  • Monitor and order items to ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained
  • Source products from branch, distribution center, or supplier inventory
  • Determine the most cost-effective shipping methods for customer orders
  • Partner with Account Representatives to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Expedite backorders and assist with pulling inventory or handling customer returns

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Moderate computer skills, including email, business systems, and internet research
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities
  • High level of reliability, organization, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with product knowledge in an industrial or distribution setting
