Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

• Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person customers to determine their needs
• Provide products and make recommendations from the product assortment
• Enter customer orders via fax, phone, email, and text
• Grow and retain the established customer base and obtain new business
• Follow up with suppliers regarding backorders and provide accurate delivery dates to customers
• Send and follow up on all quote requests sent to suppliers
• Process merchandise returns and warranty claims following established procedures
• Support counter and external sales activities
• Resolve customer order issues in compliance with company policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one year of experience in customer service or counter sales
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills
• Strong relationship-building skills with customers, suppliers, and teammates
• Ability to identify customer needs and close sales
• Ability to learn and use order processing software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment
• Average mathematics skills
• Ability to learn to operate mechanical material handling equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience or knowledge of products sold at the profit center
• Experience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
