About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide sales support to customers via telephone, email, and walk-ins
- Answer customer inquiries and identify their needs
- Research products and provide recommendations from the assortment
- Enter sales orders via fax, phone, email, and text
- Grow and retain the established customer base
- Follow up on backorders with vendors and provide delivery dates
- Process returns and warranty claims in compliance with procedures
- Support Counter Sales and Outside Sales activities
- Resolve order issues in accordance with company policies
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of customer service or counter sales experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Outstanding verbal communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to identify customer needs and close sales
- Ability to learn and operate order processing software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate math skills
- Ability to learn material handling equipment operation
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, or industrial products
- Experience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
