Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

• Act as the initial point of contact for customers via telephone, online, or in-person at the local business office
• Process payments, balance cash funds, and manage daily cash drawer and kiosk reconciliation
• Assist customers with electrical service requests, including connections, disconnections, and outage reporting
• Respond to billing and collection inquiries, including payment arrangements and high bill explanations
• Promote and sell company products and services such as budget billing, paperless billing, and EFT
• Educate customers on the meter reading process and billing cycles to help them manage service and payments
• Represent Alabama Power in a professional, tactful, and courteous manner

Requirements

• Proven customer service experience
• Successful completion of the CSR-MH (Customer Service Assessment)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work well with both internal teams and external customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in cash handling
• Previous experience in collections
