About the role
Responsibilities
- Create a positive first impression by welcoming patients as a greeter, receptionist, or cashier
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes for all appointment types
- Handle reminder calls, answer patient questions, and manage complaints to ensure a high-quality experience
- Support patients and families in a team-based care environment to promote self-management and behavior change
- Utilize electronic health record-keeping systems and office equipment including telephones, faxes, and copiers
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer applications (Chrome, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to work under stress and maintain professionalism in a lively medical setting
- Proficiency in elementary math and keyboarding skills
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of front desk or customer service experience in a medical setting
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency
- One year of clerical office experience
- Familiarity with medical or dental terminology
