Customer Associate

Responsibilities

• Receive and discharge patients by greeting them, verifying demographic and insurance information, and notifying clinical staff
• Perform clerical duties including scheduling, typing, form completion, photocopying, faxing, and mail sorting
• Manage incoming telephone calls, routing them to the appropriate party and taking messages according to protocol
• Collect patient payments, issue receipts, reconcile balances at the end of shifts, and make bank deposits as requested
• File and retrieve medical records from storage areas following department procedures and policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in basic computer software programs
• Minimum typing speed of 30 wpm
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
• Previous experience with insurance verification and collections
