About the role
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of customs declarations and associated messaging (import, export, and transit)
- Process movements using SGS systems such as eGTA and TransitNet
- Review and validate customer information for compliance with customs legislation
- Monitor declaration status and manage delays, rejections, or discrepancies
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates and managing expectations
- Communicate with hauliers and internal stakeholders to minimize supply chain disruption
- Maintain complete and accurate records and audit trails for compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, administrative, or operational roles
- Minimum 1 year of experience with data entry, processing, or workflow systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+ or C1)
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade-related qualifications (e.g., UK Customs Academy, BIFA, IOE&IT)
- Experience in customs brokerage, transit operations, or freight forwarding
- Knowledge of UK customs procedures (CDS) and transit processes (NCTS)
- Experience in a regulated or compliance-driven environment
