About the role

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of customs declarations and associated messaging (import, export, and transit)
  • Process movements using SGS systems such as eGTA and TransitNet
  • Review and validate customer information for compliance with customs legislation
  • Monitor declaration status and manage delays, rejections, or discrepancies
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates and managing expectations
  • Communicate with hauliers and internal stakeholders to minimize supply chain disruption
  • Maintain complete and accurate records and audit trails for compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, administrative, or operational roles
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with data entry, processing, or workflow systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+ or C1)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade-related qualifications (e.g., UK Customs Academy, BIFA, IOE&IT)
  • Experience in customs brokerage, transit operations, or freight forwarding
  • Knowledge of UK customs procedures (CDS) and transit processes (NCTS)
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance-driven environment
