Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial services to maintain a clean and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors
• Clean all building areas and furnishings using appropriate equipment and cleaning chemicals
• Manage rubbish and recycling removal, including emptying containers and placing them for pickup
• Maintain security of assigned areas and report any defective or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor
• Move furniture as needed or requested for various campus needs and events
• Respond to all requests and complaints in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
• Maintain a clean workspace and assist other departments when requested

Requirements

• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal supervision
• Ability to work independently and as a productive member of a team
• Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy furniture and operating bulky equipment (40-50 lbs)
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous custodial experience
• Previous customer service experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
