Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties within dormitories, offices, and other public facilities
• Pick up and dispose of trash and handle recyclable materials properly
• Dust, sweep, dry mop, wet mop, and spot mop various floor surfaces
• Clean glass surfaces, including entrance doors and interior windows
• Sanitize washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities, and refill all dispensers
• Vacuum and clean carpets and walk-off mats
• Spot wash marks on walls and woodwork
• Clear debris, such as leaves and paper, from entrances, steps, and walkways
• Report equipment damage or malfunctions to the immediate supervisor

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow both written and oral directions
• Ability to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a positive and helpful manner
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, reach, and lift up to 60 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of professional custodial or cleaning experience
