Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties within dormitories, offices, and public facilities
• Pick up and dispose of trash and handle recyclable materials properly
• Dust, sweep, dry mop, and vacuum carpets and walk-off mats
• Clean glass surfaces, including entrance doors and interior windows
• Sanitize washrooms, showers, and toilet facilities, and refill dispensers
• Spot wash marks on walls and woodwork
• Clear debris such as leaves and paper from entrances, steps, and walkways
• Report equipment damage or malfunctions to the immediate supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to follow both verbal and written directions
• Ability to interact with students, faculty, and co-workers in a positive and helpful manner
• Physical ability to climb ladders, bend, and reach
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 3 years of custodial or cleaning experience
