Custodian

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of University facilities, including academic, administrative, athletic, and residential spaces
• Perform daily custodial tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows, and trash removal
• Thoroughly clean restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, showers, and mirrors
• Respond to work orders and proactively identify areas requiring extra cleaning or maintenance
• Handle emergency situations, such as spills or cleaning biomedical waste
• Assist with event setup and facilities support for University-sponsored events
• Operate various cleaning equipment including vacuums, ride-on vacuums, and carpet extractors

Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment
• Proficiency in English to read labels, directions, and work orders
• Ability to work the night shift, including potential overtime or schedule changes

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of custodial or housekeeping experience
• Active driver’s license
