Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and upkeep of assigned interior facilities, including dorm rooms, offices, classrooms, restrooms, and common spaces
• Execute floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing various surfaces
• Manage trash removal and maintain cleanliness of windows, light fixtures, and HVAC air diffusers
• Maintain exterior grounds, including grass-cutting, trimming, raking, snow removal, and ice control
• Assist with the set-up and breakdown of furniture for university events and seasonal move-in/move-out periods
• Serve as essential personnel, providing availability for emergencies, severe weather response, and special university events

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good communication skills and the ability to express ideas clearly
• Ability to handle frequent interruptions and interact professionally with faculty, staff, and students
• Ability to respect and support the University’s Catholic and Jesuit mission

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in institutional cleaning operations (e.g., hotels, hospitals, schools, or universities)
