Custodian

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and surfaces
• Clean and maintain washroom facilities, shower rooms, offices, and classrooms
• Manage inventory of hygiene items such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste using garbage compactors or bins
• Perform specialized cleaning tasks including carpet cleaning, stripping, and waxing floors
• Organize and maintain janitorial supplies and equipment
• Perform laundry services as required by program needs
• Comply with all sanitation, disinfecting, and workplace safety protocols
• Report general repairs and maintenance needs to the Custodial Supervisor

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 3 months of related cleaning and maintenance experience
• Ability to lift and move furniture up to 50 lbs
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and industrial cleaning equipment
• Ability to pass a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
• Ability to pass a Child Intervention Check
