Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing common area floors
• Remove garbage from floors and transport containers to compactors and recycling bins
• Clean and sanitize lavatories, wash basins, mirrors, walls, and washroom floors
• Maintain an inventory of necessary cleaning supplies and perform monthly inspections
• Report maintenance issues or building problems to the Facility Manager in a timely manner
• Respond to resident concerns and provide assistance as needed to support community living
• Coordinate with Facility and Program Managers to ensure all facility issues are addressed

Requirements

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification, or the ability to obtain it within two months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work
• One year of experience in human services, specifically working with vulnerable populations
