Custodian/Maintenance Worker

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning glass and furniture
• Maintain facility cleanliness by emptying garbage and recycling receptacles
• Clean and sanitize washrooms, kitchens, and common areas, ensuring supplies are restocked
• Perform minor maintenance repairs such as changing light bulbs, unblocking toilets, and tightening furniture screws
• Ensure building security by checking doors and windows
• Maintain external property, including lawn care and clearing snow and ice from sidewalks and entrances
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including WHMIS compliant labeling and maintaining clear fire exits
• Report major repair needs or safety hazards to the supervisor

Requirements

• Completion of Secondary School
• Up to 1 year of related experience in custodial or maintenance work
• Knowledge of Health & Safety Standards and OH&S regulations
• Ability to lift and move up to 49 pounds
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, and ladder work
• Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector background check
