Custodian

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all hard floor surfaces and vacuum/spot clean carpeted areas
• Clean restrooms, showers, and locker rooms, including replenishing dispensers
• Clean all interior surfaces and assigned areas within campus buildings
• Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables in outside dumpster containers
• Remove snow and ice from outside walkways and entryways
• Perform minor repairs such as replacing light bulbs
• Assist with special projects including summer and end-of-term cleanups

Requirements

• Ability to climb a 12 ft. stepladder
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to use equipment such as vacuums and various hand tools
• Ability to read and follow instructions, directions, and safety procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience
