Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks to maintain campus buildings and assigned areas
• Empty trash containers and remove waste to designated disposal areas
• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, shelving, cabinets, and window trim
• Sweep, mop, wax, vacuum, and shampoo floors and carpets
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish necessary supplies
• Report maintenance needs and maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies
• Assist in moving furniture and equipment and setting up for special events
• Perform seasonal tasks such as sweeping or shoveling snow from building entrances

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of related cleaning or custodial experience
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work orders
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional cleaning solutions and best practices
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license
