Custodian 2

Responsibilities

• Perform custodial and minor maintenance tasks to ensure the cleanliness of residence halls, apartments, and dining areas
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment including high-speed buffers, burnishers, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners
• Complete minor repairs such as caulking, replacing toilet seats, replacing outlet covers, and minor furniture repairs
• Use power tools such as hand drills for basic maintenance duties
• Move heavy items including tables, furniture, and cleaning supplies
• Maintain safety standards by using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Requirements

• Six months of experience in custodial, general building maintenance, groundskeeping, or semi-skilled repair work (carpentry, electrical, or plumbing)
• Ability to read and write
• Valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one by time of hire)
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, stand, and walk continuously
• Ability to climb and stand on ladders
