Custodian 2

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the LSU Student Union facility, including lobbies, bathrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, and administrative areas.
• Perform floor care tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and polishing using industrial equipment.
• Manage the setup and breakdown of furniture, including tables and chairs, for daily events in ballrooms and meeting rooms.
• Mix and blend cleaning solutions to proper concentrations for various surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor machines, vacuum cleaners, and carpet extraction equipment.
• Empty interior and exterior trash and recycling containers and transport waste to outdoor refuse areas.
• Maintain exterior grounds, including sidewalks, patios, and balconies.

Requirements

• At least six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.
• Physical ability to perform manual work, including standing for extended periods and ascending/descending stairs in a four-story building.
• Ability to move furniture weighing 20 to 40 pounds and transport tables/chairs weighing 60 to 80 pounds.
• Capability to stoop, kneel, and crouch to perform cleaning tasks.
• Ability to work with and be exposed to common cleaning products.
