Custodian 2

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing in offices, classrooms, laboratories, and residence halls
• Mix and blend routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to outdoor refuse areas
• Handle and transport bio-hazardous waste boxes to designated storage areas
• Perform floor maintenance such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet extraction using industrial equipment
• Move or rearrange furniture, fixtures, and equipment for special events like commencement and seminars
• Wash building exteriors, windows, and sidewalks using power washers and other specialized equipment
• Secure campus buildings by locking and unlocking doors using assigned master keys
• Maintain and clean all equipment used for assigned duties and report safety hazards to supervisors

Requirements

• Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work
• Ability to pass a physical evaluation based on the physical demands of the role
• Ability to work in an emergency essential capacity, reporting to campus during emergencies or closures
