Custodian 2

Responsibilities

• Clean lobbies, bathrooms, hallways, meeting rooms, and administrative areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing
• Manage set-ups and break downs for daily events in meeting rooms, ballrooms, and exterior grounds
• Clean, strip, wax, and polish floors using industrial mops and commercial floor machines
• Maintain floor equipment, including cleaning machines, recharging batteries, and washing mops and pads
• Operate wet/dry vacuums and carpet extraction equipment for cleaning and shampooing carpets
• Empty interior and exterior trash and recycling containers and transport waste to outdoor refuse containers
• Decontaminate and deodorize waste containers using proper materials and safety directions

Requirements

• Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work
• Physical ability to perform manual work, including standing for extended periods
• Ability to move furniture weighing 20 to 40 pounds and transport tables/chairs weighing 60 to 80 pounds
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a four-story building multiple times daily
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch to clean restrooms, offices, and maintain floors
