Responsibilities

• Clean restrooms, offices, classrooms, stairwells, elevators, and hallways using sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and polishing techniques.
• Mix or blend routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations based on manufacturer recommendations.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to appropriate outdoor refuse or recycling containers.
• Decontaminate and deodorize indoor and outdoor waste receptacles.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as wet/dry vacuums, carpet extractors, bathroom cleaning machines, and floor polishers.
• Secure assigned areas by locking and unlocking doors according to departmental processes.
• Report safety concerns regarding programs, equipment, and facilities to the functional area supervisor.

Requirements

• Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, grounds keeping, or food service work.
• Ability to walk large buildings (up to 250,000 square feet) multiple times daily.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs multiple times daily.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, move, or transport items weighing 60-80 pounds.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch as needed for cleaning tasks.
