Custodial Worker, Housing

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning of lobbies, offices, restrooms, dining areas, and common areas in dorms and apartments
• Clean and maintain floors by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and using floor care machinery
• Dispose of trash, recyclables, and biohazards properly
• Clean windows, walls, doors, furniture, and related fixtures
• Restock supplies and replace light bulbs as needed
• Set up and arrange furniture and equipment for classes and scheduled events
• Identify and report maintenance needs or safety hazards to authorities
• Assist with snow removal from building entrances and walkways
• Work safely with cleaning chemicals, equipment, and vehicles

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated
• Working knowledge of computers, internet, and email systems
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds (occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance)

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in industrial or commercial cleaning
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Experience using email and internet software
