Custodial Worker 1

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain buildings or specific assigned areas
• Perform floor maintenance including dusting, mopping, buffing, waxing, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including mirrors, toilets, showers, and floors
• Replenish bathroom supplies and empty wastebaskets
• Wash windows, walls, furniture, and white/black boards
• Change light bulbs at reasonable heights
• Shovel snow at entrances and collect debris around buildings
• Report necessary repairs to the immediate supervisor
• Maintain cleaning supply stock and place orders with the supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand written materials
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs from the floor to shoulder height
• Ability to carry up to 100lbs via team lift
• Ability to push/pull up to 50lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous custodial experience
