Custodial Services Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist the Custodial Services Supervisor in the daily operational management of the department
• Create and maintain inventory records for custodial supplies and equipment
• Coordinate the ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies
• Inspect, monitor, and perform minor maintenance repairs on custodial equipment
• Perform a full range of custodial duties to clean and maintain multi-building facilities
• Coordinate the collection and monitoring of campus biohazard waste
• Assist in staff training regarding equipment, cleaning methods, and safety regulations
• Maintain operational records including MSDS books, keys, and attendance
• Interface with vendors, faculty, and staff to resolve service concerns

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• 1 year of industrial or commercial cleaning experience
• Working knowledge of computers, internet, and email systems
• Ability to work independently and with a diverse group of individuals
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant custodial or maintenance experience
