Curator of Education, Jundt

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for integrating museum-based learning into university courses through faculty partnerships and outreach.
• Recruit, organize, and lead the museum’s volunteer docent program.
• Establish and supervise student engagement programs, including educational events and internship opportunities.
• Plan and implement educational programs and tours for K-12 teachers and diverse external audiences.
• Deliver exhibition- and collection-related tours to groups of all ages.
• Create educational materials such as educator guides, brochures, online content, and social media resources.
• Research and implement innovative programming including lectures, seminars, workshops, and symposia.
• Assist the Director as a liaison with academic and civic communities for public relations.
• Function as a curator for specific temporary exhibitions.
• Support fundraising and grant writing efforts for educational programming.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in museum studies, art history, art, or museum education (or equivalent professional experience).
• At least one year of experience working in a museum education department.
• Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for educational programming and office administration.
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in art education or a related field.
• Three or more years of experience in a museum education department, particularly within a university setting.
• Proven experience in grant writing.
• Ability to teach as an adjunct in museum studies or art education.
• Strong understanding of educational pedagogy, learning styles, and cultural competency.
• Knowledge of printmaking techniques.
